History

1SC Guarding Limited (1SC) was established in 1997 by Managing Director David Jones. David was motivated to set up a Manned Guarding company by the considerable experience, both good and bad, he had gained as a buyer and end user of guarding services with organisations as diverse as The BBC and The London Borough of Southwark. A former long serving soldier, David had and still has a very distinct view of how quality service should be delivered by way of a properly trained, managed and disciplined body of personnel.

Despite an uphill battle against the ‘it’ll do’ culture that once surrounded, and to an extent still surrounds the provision of guarding services, David remains firmly committed to his original ideals; he has daily ‘hands on’ involvement with every part of the running of 1SC Guarding Ltd and is at pains to ensure that the culture of mediocrity that can easily be found within the manned guarding industry has no place within this organisation.  In short; whilst we may be smaller in size we are massive in our commitment to and ability to deliver a quality service rarely found within the security industry.  

To that end David has carefully and personally selected a management team which, whilst individually being from very diverse backgrounds, between them have well over 100 years of security industry experience together with a wealth of other specialist knowledge in areas such as Training, Health and Safety, Sales and Marketing and Vetting as well as an unshakeable shared commitment to quality service and to each other as a vibrant management team.  We are one of the first Companies to achieve 100% licensing for our guards as well as our entire management team; we achieved Guarding Gold standard from the National Security Inspectorate at a very early stage of our history, we are an Edexcel approved Training provider and although there is no onus upon us to do so, we have achieved accreditation to the Britannia Safe Contractor Scheme as a way of underlining our commitment to safe methods of work.

Every company will offer exceptional client service.  To many this simply equates to fulfilling the terms of their contracts and sadly clients have come to accept this situation as normal.  To 1SC Guarding Ltd our contract terms are the minimum service that we provide; exceptional to us means adding value.  That we usually do!

We do not however rest on our laurels and through rigorous internal and external audits and inspections we ensure that our accreditations remain current and appropriate.  We enthusiastically welcome input from our clients into what we do and how we do it including suggestions for alternative or improved methods of operational service delivery.  Given the diversity of premises that we protect, from small buildings and individual police stations to prestigious offices, museums and hospitals, we believe that only by constant monitoring and a policy of continuous improvement can we remain a genuine provider of quality manned guarding and a beacon of excellence in the security industry.
